Union Jack Designs

We have had a challenge at work to come up with some Union Jack designs for Royal Wedding requests we may have this year and for the Queens jubilee and the Olympics next year.

Mine need a bit of work and I was struggling to paint them on myself in the mirror but these are ones I came up with...

A Union Jack type of crown...

A British warrior...for the boys!....

This one a conceptual one....if you scratch away our skin we are British to the core....

And for the Royal Wedding...a Union Jack Heart for cheeks or arms :0)

More Coiling and a finished Picture

I finished my picture today, cant decide whether to colour it in or not.  I think I might scan it first then I will always still have the original!

I also played more with the gizmo and made another necklace today....

Coiling Gizmo

So here we have the Coiling Gizmo....very easy to use!  Start by threading some small beads onto a length of wire then attaching the wire to the end and twist the handle to start off the coil.....

Slide the beads down to the coiled part and keep turning the handle so it coils with the beads on.....

When the beads run out then coil a small section just with the wire so they stay in place.  Snip the wire at both ends so it slides off the gizmo and there you have a bead.  You can stretch them a bit too so the coil opens up......

You can thread these onto leather thongs or chain or if you want to be really smart you can make a smaller coil with a loop at one end....

.....and then you can slide this second coil inside the first one....

.....and then make another loop the other end so the inner coil stays in place.....

You can use jump rings to join these beads together or use them as pendants.  If you have stretched the beaded coil slightly then you can see the inner coil through the first one!

I also had some of these nice spiral beads I bought years ago so I threaded some wire through and put beads through the spiral so they were on the wire inside the spiral beads and then made a coil each end so they were trapped (Mwah ha ha!)

Then I used them along with this nice glass heart bead to make into this necklace....

I'm loving the colours, think this one might have to be mine all mine!!

A weekend of fun ahead!!

Mum and Dad have come to stay today :0) Mum brought her book for the coiling gizmo and has reminded me how to use it, as I've not played with mine for years.  I forgot how addictive it is coiling away.  We are off to Hobbycraft tomorrow for some more supplies and a rummage!

These are the beads I have made just having a play this evening....

I made this one by loading two different colours of wire at the same time

These ones remind me of blackberries :0)

I have also finished doing the outlines for my flower pic...

I need to decide what to do in the background now!

Draw With Glue!

Today I have been playing with my spiral glues in my journal :0)

I really hope they dry completely so it doesn't stick together!!

I have also started a different kind of doodle this evening, This one might even have some colour in it eventually :0)

I started it off in pencil and then when I like what I have I am going over it in pen.

Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon

Spent this morning clearing the last of the crap off the dining table so that is clear now.  Had a lazy Sunday afternoon watching TV with the man-shape and did a bit more to the doodle this evening....

Saturday 22 January 2011

Another busy day

Spent most of today tidying up.  Have rediscovered the spare bed so it is clear for when Mum and Dad come to stay next week.  I did manage a bit of doodling this evening though...

Run Around Day & 70% Off At Hobbycraft :0)

Had a busy day running around doing food shopping and bits and bobs.  I dashed off to Hobbycraft as they had a table top easle set which was reduced from £39.99 down to £5.99!  Luckily there were two left when I got there so I grabbed it quick.  So I now have an upright table top easle for painting with acrylics and a more tilted one for doing watercolour.

They had a 70% off sale on so obviously it would be rude not to investigate!!  I got some more brads as they were in the sale so my Journal has nice sparkly brads on it now instead of just the gold split pins....

I got a couple of things for card making and some beads to play with when Mum is here next weekend and we get the wire gizmo out.  They also had these glues in the sale which I thought were worth having a play with for the page in the journal where you are meant to draw with glue....

So not much chance to be creative today!

Busy Busy Day Again

Not much time to play today so I have just done a bit to my doodle.  I decided on just black for it in the end as multicoloured would just drive the control freak in me mental!

New Pens Have Arrived!!

Happy Happy Days!!  Its the small things in life that bring us joy :0)

My new set of pens are here.....

So just to celebrate I have been doing a doodle of my name in multicolour

Also my journal came home (Yayyy!) But...all the stamps, apart from the 1p one, have fallen off in transit!  I'm gutted!! so it doesn't really have much to show that it has been through the post.  I guess I should feel lucky that it came back and they didnt charge me extra for delivery since all the proof of postage had fallen off!!

So here it is....after postage :0(

Waiting For New Pens :0(

I was sure they would be hear by now as they were dispatched a while ago!

I am getting my haircut tomorrow so they are bound to arrive then when Im not here to get them off the postman if they wont fit through the door!

I have drawn out the base for my next doodle.  Thought I would try a mix of circles and straight lines inside a rectangle this time and see if its as effective as just the circles...

Not quite sure whether to do this multicoloured or stick to black.
I also had a play at doing some graffiti style writing

I posted the Journal first class today so hopefully it will be back tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Tape Up The Journal And Post It To Yourself

I spent most of my free time today trying to re-discover the dining table as it has become a tad swamped so the only creative thing I have had time for is to tape up my journal ready for posting....

I used holographic gift wrap tape which is not overly sticky and Im praying to god the tape doesnt fall off while its in transit if it gets damp!!

I am going to get a mixture of stamps put on it.  I will take a picture of them when it comes home....eeeek I hope it does come home!!!
